The project is the result of a competition of ideas to place a bar cafeteria in one of the pavilions near Plaza de España, which was created by Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron.

The pavilion presents a volcanic and tectonic look. It has numerous gardens that dialogue with their immediate context and with the Anaga mountains in the background.

We proposed to highlight the value of the existing pavilion by merely operating on it, almost in a surgical way. The new space was endowed with furniture and shadow devices in accordance to the architectural quality of the ensemble.

This way, a new space of meeting between tourists and neighbours is created. A new place of interest in this singular area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
