The assignment is possible thanks to winning a public competition of ideas that looks for proposals to build bars and restaurants and a space for leisure under Puente Serrador, one of the main bridges that cross Barranco de Santos in the old town of Tenerife’s capital.

The proposal is simple and respects the bridge’s architectural work, which was completed in 1943. We propose wooden flooring that can be adjusted to the customer’s desired functional programme. A natural skin that gives shape to the open air terrace, indoor tables, bars and toilet rooms. The closing of the bridge’s front and rear arches is performed using frameless glass with a structure of metallic fasteners on vertical glass structures.

Two of the arches under the bridge will contain the new leisure space of the capital: a new tourist attraction for the city and new meeting point of neighbours and visitors.
